OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police say a man who stabbed himself after being shot with a stun gun by an officer has died.
Capt. Paco Balderrama says the man was shot with the stun gun shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday outside a northwest Oklahoma City convenience store after he used scissors to threaten an officer.
Police say the man then began stabbing himself before being handcuffed, then started having trouble breathing and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Balderramma said the man's name wasn't immediately known and the body is being sent to the state medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death.
Police say officers were called to the scene by witnesses who reported the man was acting strangely and cursing employees of the convenience store.
