According to Undersheriff Gene Ward, on Monday July 11th,  at approx. 5:36pm , Seward County EMS responded to the Seward County Detention Center for an inmate, Barry K Angell from Liberal, who had collapsed.  The officers started CPR.  Mr. Angell was transported to Southwest Medical Center where he subsequently passed away. The death is believed to be from natural causes. An autopsy has confirmed Mr. Angell died of natural causes with heart related issues.  Mr. Angell was a city inmate serving days. The KBI is investigating the incident.
