(KNZA)-- The Brown County Commission has approved the appointment of a new attorney to provide court-appointed services in the county.
The Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Troy attorney Kelly Fuemmeler to the position.
Fuemmeler will replace Judd Herbster who is stepping down effective August 1st.
She was among two applicants. Also applying was Seneca attorney Meghan Voracek. County Attorney Kevin Hill said both applicants were well qualified.
As a court-appointed attorney, Fuemmeler will represent indigent defendants and handle child in need of care cases.
