(KAIR)--An Elwood, Kansas man is dead, killed Saturday evening in a head-on crash with a semi on I-229 in Andrew County, Missouri. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the victim as 34-year-old Brett Devling. He was behind the wheel of a northbound car, 3-miles north of Saint Joseph, that went off the west side of the highway. The car crossed the median into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with the semi. 

The truck driver, from Savannah, Missouri, was not hurt. 

The fatal crash happened just minutes after 7:00.
