(KNZA)--A Platte City, Missouri man was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle wreck on I-435 in Platte County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says 51-year-old William Kirkpatrick was southbound when his vehicle struck a concrete bridge barrier.

Kirkpatrick was transported to North Kansas City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The wreck was reported shortly after 5:20 Tuesday morning.
