(KNZA)--The Doniphan West school district will be searching for a new superintendent of schools.

The USD 111 Board of Education during a special meeting last week accepted the resignation of Rex Bollinger, who also serves as pre K-6th principal.

Bollinger has served as superintendent the past 9 years.

The Kansas Chief reports Bollinger has accepted the position of interim superintendent at Prairie View USD 362 in La Cyngne, Kansas.

The district has slightly under 900 students and is located in northern Linn County and southern Miami County.
