(KAIR)--Atchison Police continue to investigate a late Thursday night shooting that left a 12-year-old girl hospitalized.

Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson told MSC News multiple shots were fired at a residence in the 1400 block of Commercial Street where there were four people on or near the home's porch when the shots were fired. Struck by a bullet, around 11:45 Thursday night, was the 12-year-old girl who was transported to Amberwell Atchison by Atchison County EMS. She was then flown for further hospitalized care at a Kansas City hospital.

Wilson says officers continue their investigation. 

There are not yet any arrests or suspects named.
