(KNZA)--Two Horton residents were arrested Wedneday evening after a reported domestic incident in Brown County.
According to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant, dispatch received a call of a possible rolling domestic issue shortly after 8:00 involving a red Ford Explorer type vehicle on K-20 Higway near Horton The caller stated that the male driver was hitting a female and forcing her into the vehicle.
A deputy on routine patrol who was in the area, observed the vehicle on K-20 near Goldfinch Road and initiated a traffic stop.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Cager Spates was arrested on charges of DUI and Obstruction. It was also learned that Spates had four Douglas County warrants for criminal damage to property, battery and two counts of felony criminal threat. He also had a Johnson County warrant for failure to appear.
The passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Tyrone Green, was also arrested on warrants out of Jackson County and Nebraska.
Green was transported to the Jackson county line where a Jackson County deputy then transported him to the Jackson County Jail.
Spates was booked into the Brown County Jail.
The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted.
