(KNZA)-- A longtime Hiawatha teacher and coach is being remembered.

According to an obituary from Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Chris Diller died Thursday evening at the age of 52.

Diller served as a special education teacher at Hiawatha High School and previously spent time as the school’s head football coach.

He was recognized in January for 18 years of service to students in USD 415.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hiawatha.

Diller is survived by his wife, Heidi, and their four children.
