(KNZA)---A longtime Hiawatha teacher and coach is being remembered.

According to an obituary from the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, Chris Diller died Thursday evening at the age of 52.

Diller served as a special education teacher at Hiawatha High School and previously served a stint as head high school football coach.

Diller was recognized in January for 18 years of service to USD 415 students.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hiawatha.

Among survivors are his wife, Heidi, and four children.
