Robert Reed/Credit: Riverside USD 114
(KNZA)--Riverside USD 114 has named its next superintendent.
The district announced Tuesday that Robert Reed has been selected for the position.
Reed currently serves as superintendent and Pre-K through sixth grade principal at Hodgeman County USD 227. He brings 27 years of experience in K-12 education.
He grew up in Wichita and is a graduate of Newman University. Reed earned his master’s degree from Baker University, along with his district-level leadership license.
Reed and his wife, Robin, have been married for 29 years.
He was one of three finalists interviewed for the position. The other finalists were LaTisha Williams, principal at Atchison High School, and Rhonda Frakes, principal at Jefferson West High School.
Reed will officially take over as superintendent on July 1st.
He replaces Jennifer Gatz, who is stepping down at the end of the school year to pursue another professional opportunity after three years in the role.
