1985 Holt County MO murder case proceeds

(KLZA)--  A Missouri Department of Corrections inmate, originally from Oregon, Missouri, is scheduled for a court appearance on June 3 in a Holt County courtroom on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the September, 1985 killing of  of Peggy Horseman.

Kirby David waived his formal arraignment in the case on April 8 in Circuit Court in Holt County and will appear on June 3rd for a plea/trial setting and case review.

David was charged in connection with the murder of Horseman in July of 2024. Horseman found shot to death during the early morning hours of September 27, 1985 at the King Oil Station in Mound City where she worked as the night clerk.

She was found in the back of the store, having been shot in the back of the head.

David is currently serving a 20-year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections on a felony charge of distribution of a controlled substance.
