The public is invited Thursday afternoon, May 28, from 4 until 6, at 516 Commercial Street. Organizers say guests will be able to tour the new space, visit with staff and community members, and enjoy refreshments.
The event also highlights the ongoing work of what began as the Atchison Community Health Clinic. The clinic opened in 2009 when physicians Chad Johanning and Aaron Sinclair, with support from Atchison Hospital, set out to meet the primary health care needs of underinsured and uninsured residents in Atchison and surrounding counties.
Organizers say the volunteer-led free clinic expanded over time and became a Federally Qualified Health Center in 2015, continuing to provide compassionate, high-quality care for thousands of patients each year.
