According to Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie, deputies were called to the 100 block of Shawnee Street just before 12 noon where a 77-year-old man had been attacked by two dogs.
The victim was transported by Atchison County EMS to Amberwell Atchison for hospital care of puncture wounds and lacerations that investigators say were caused by the attack.
According to Laurie's release, two 24-year-old Muscotah residents, Jimmy Bowen and Mia Bowen, were each issued a notice to appear in court for the charge of permitting a dangerous animal to be at large.
