(KNZA)--A Nebraska man was arrested on multiple drug charges and several outstanding warrants following a traffic stop Sunday night in Jackson County.
According to Sheriff Tim Morse, a deputy pulled over a Buick LeSabre on U.S. 75 Highway near 110th Road shortly before 9:00 p.m. for alleged defective equipment.
The driver, identified as 65-year-old Darryl Huggins of Omaha was taken into custody after deputies confirmed he was wanted on three outstanding warrants.
During the stop, a K-9 unit was deployed around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search reportedly turned up suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Huggins was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while a habitual violator.
Huggins is also being held on additional warrants from Cloud County, Kansas for possession of cocaine and paraphernalia, from Geary County, Kansas for contempt of court, and an out-of-state warrant out of Omaha, Nebraska for dangerous drugs.
