(KLZA)--Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning in Holt County, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just over two miles north of Oregon along Interstate 29.

The Patrol says a 43-year-old man from Bedford, Iowa was driving a 2007 Victory Vegas motorcycle northbound with a 45-year-old female passenger from Lincoln, Nebraska when he attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway.

The patrol says the motorcycle overturned onto its left side, ejecting both riders.

Both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by Holt County Coroner Gene Bradley.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims.
