The declaration follows severe weather events May 16 and 17, a tornado event on May 18 and heavy rains on June 4 and 5 which caused sever damage to public and private property, disruption of utility service and endangerment of the health and safety of Richardson County citizens within the disaster area.
Highway Superintendent Steve Darveau Jr. updated the Board on road and bridge maintenance and noted that the Martin Marietta DuBois quarry will be closed for most of the summer months due to flooding.
The Board recommended the County make plans to build a stockpile of rock.
