(KNZA)--The Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is inviting area residents to celebrate America’s 250th birthday during the 19th-annual July Jubilee this Saturday at Banner Creek Reservoir west of Holton.
The free, family-friendly event will feature food, games, live music, a lighted boat parade and a patriotic fireworks display.
While admission is free, organizers will accept free-will donations at the reservoir gates to help offset event expenses.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Live entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with Topeka-based Switch In Time, followed by the Departure Band at 7:45 p.m. Visitors can also enjoy food and merchandise vendors throughout the evening before the Lighted Boat Parade illuminates the reservoir ahead of the night’s grand finale. The July Jubilee concludes with a fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m. at Banner Creek Reservoir. Organizers encourage families and friends to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of patriotic celebration.
