(KAIR)--Four people are facing drug charges following a pair of incidents over the weekend, according to a release from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.
The first came Saturday evening around 6:30 when an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle in a parking lot near 10th and U.S. 59 for a traffic violation.
The driver, 56-year-old Kimberly Taylor of Independence, Missouri, was found to be in the alleged possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Along with those charges, she also faces transporting an open container, illegal use of a tag, and driving without a license.
Once in custody, Taylor was booked into the Atchison County Jail.
Three more arrests followed early Sunday morning at Warnock Lake.
According to Wilson, it was shortly before 2:00 that morning when an officer contacted a vehicle in the park after the 11:00 curfew. All three occupants were found to be in possession of controlled substances.
27-year-old Alyissa Berglund of Atchison was arrested for possession of cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia while 31-year-old Chase Chapman of Huron and 22-year-old Kevin Hobbs of Effingham each face charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
All three were taken to the county jail.
