(KMZA)--A motorists alert for Nemaha County.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says the Union Pacific Railroad will temporarily close its railroad crossing on U.S. 36 just east of Seneca on Friday, June 26, for repair work.

The crossing will be fully closed from about 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., weather conditions permitting.

During the closure, motorists can follow a signed detour using K-63, K-9 and K-187, or choose an alternate route.

KDOT is reminding drivers to stay alert and obey all posted signs when traveling through work zones.
