Auburn Board of Public Works elects new officers

(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Public Works met June 17. During the meeting the Board elected officers for the next year.

Michael Zaruba was elected Chairman for the next year, David Grant will serve as Vice-Chairman and Phil Shaw will serve as Board Secretary.

Quotes were presented to the Board and approved for health, life and ancillary insurance polices for the 2026-27 Employee Benefit package.

Changes approved will result in lower premiums for the company and employees.

The Board voted to cancel the LIGHT Benefit Plan and the Principal Dental and Vision plans as of July 1. In addition, the Board also voted to cancel the Guardian Life Insurance Policy as of July 1.

BPW General Manager Ray Luhring reported the Auburn water wells are stable and the water levels are high.

It was noted the State of Nebraska requested additional data on the Water Source Supply Project in Auburn. Once the project is completed a dedication ceremony will be scheduled.

BPW Board members approved a Line Replacement quote from Farabee Mechanical in an amount of $189,897 along with potential add-on parts.
