According to a release, the County is currently seeking seven poll workers in Atchison and three in Effingham to help staff polling locations for the August fourth primary and the November third general election.
Poll workers are responsible for setting up polling locations, checking in voters, verifying registrations, assisting voters through the process, and closing and securing the site at the end of the day.
No prior experience is required. Training will be provided before election day.
To be eligible, applicants must be a registered Kansas voter. High school students may also serve with parent or guardian approval.
Anyone who has previously worked as an election worker and has not been contacted is also encouraged to reach out, as some contact information on file may be outdated.
