(KLZA)--The city of Humboldt has announced that during this month's routine water sampling, a sample tested positive for coliform. Coliform is used as an indicator of water quality and do not necessarily mean that harmful bacteria are present. At this time, there is no known health risk associated with the water supply.
As required by EPA regulations, the water system will undergo chlorination for approximately 30 to 60 days while additional monitoring and testing are completed.
