According to a release from the Doniphan County Sheriff's Office, deputies assisted the Brown County Sheriff's Office on Monday in connection with an ongoing theft investigation involving approximately $6,000 in power tools stolen from a rural Brown County residence.
Identified by investigators as the primary suspect is Ryan E. Simmonds of Mound City, Missouri. Evidence gathered during the investigation included surveillance footage and information about a vehicle connected to the theft, leading investigators to obtain multiple jurisdictional search warrants.
According to the release, Simmonds, during the search warrant executions, was located but fled into a wooded area; but, after an extensive search, he was eventually apprehended. Simmonds and Bridget Edie of White Cloud were both arrested and booked into the Doniphan County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property and interference with law enforcement.
