(KNZA)--Road work is underway on K-92 in Jefferson County.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says an asphalt mill and overlay project began Monday on K-92 from Memory Lane in McLouth to the Jefferson-Leavenworth county line.
Work will take place weekdays during daylight hours. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in active work zones, with flaggers and a pilot car guiding vehicles through the area. Message boards, signs and traffic cones are also being used to manage traffic. Motorists should expect brief delays.
KDOT says J-M Fahey Construction Company of Grandview, Missouri, is the contractor for the 1-point-2 million dollar project. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by late August.
