South Brown County Community Foundation gearing up for Match Days event

(KNZA)--The South Brown County Community Foundation is gearing up for its fifth annual Match Days event, set for July 14th through 16th at the Horton Blue Building during the Brown County Fair.

Community members are invited to take part by making donations in person each day from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Donations can also be made online at Grow South Brown beginning July 14th and continuing through midnight on July 16th.

The South Brown County Community Foundation says Match Days offer residents a chance to support local nonprofit groups while increasing the impact of every gift.

This year, with help from 29 match sponsors, the foundation has secured at least 75-thousand dollars in matching funds, with more still coming in.

A total of 48 nonprofit organizations serving Everest, Horton, the Kickapoo Reservation, Powhattan, and Willis will take part.

Donations will be matched at 50 cents on the dollar on a first-come, first-served basis, while matching funds remain available.

Last year’s event generated nearly 156-thousand dollars in community donations—up 35 percent from the previous year. With matching funds included, the total impact topped 233-thousand dollars for South Brown County.
