Hiawatha mail carrier injured in rollover crash

(KNZA)-- A Hiawatha mail carrier suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a rollover crash Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 73, north of Hiawatha, while delivering Amazon Sunday packages.

According to a social media post from Hiawatha Postmaster Ashley Martinez, the carrier is in stable condition.

Other social media posts identify the driver as 40-year-old Jeffrey Brassfield of Hiawatha. Those posts also report he was flown to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.

Martinez says the crash heavily damaged a number of packages. Customers whose Amazon tracking shows a package was disposed of or damaged are being asked to contact Amazon Customer Service for a replacement or refund.

No additional details about the crash have been released.
