(KLZA)--Summer is a busy time on the roads.
The Falls City Police Department reminds everyone to drive safely, wear your seatbelts, use child restraints and don't speed. 
Speeding related crashes accounted for 29 percent of total traffic fatalities in 2024 which amounted to 13,288 deaths. In Nebraska 117 fatalities were from speed related crashes in 2024.
Falls City Police Officers will be taking part in a “Speeding Catches Up to You” mobilization from July 27 – August 9.  
During the mobilization officers will be working overtime hours, conducting saturation patrols targeting speeders.
Officers will be taking a zero-tolerance stance toward violators, with a goal of making local roadway safer and to most importantly save lives.  
The Falls City Police Department is also reminding everyone of the National Night Out event on August 4 at the Falls City Aquatic Park.
