Jackson County crash injures three

(KAIR)--Three people were seriously injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle Jackson County crash.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash was reported shortly before 9:10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 75 Highway and 134th Road, north of Hoyt.
According to the Patrol report, a semi-truck driven by 74-year-old Kenneth Bailey of Delia was westbound on 134th Road, crossing U.S. 75, when he failed to yield to southbound car on U.S. 75 driven by 67-year-old Sondra Harkness of Topeka. The semi truck struck the passenger side of the car.
Bailey, Harkness and a passenger in the car, 89-year-old Alberta Lierz of Holton, were transported Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries.
The Patrol says Bailey was not wearing a seat belt, but Harkness and Lierz were buckled up when the crash occurred.
