(KMZA)--Community HealthCare System has earned national recognition from Becker’s Healthcare as one of the nation’s “Critical Access Hospitals to Know.”

The Onaga-based healthcare system was selected for expanding access to quality care across northeast Kansas, with services that include a 20-bed critical access hospital, family practice and specialty clinics, long-term care, assisted living, and home health services.

CEO John Fitzthum says the honor reflects the dedication of the entire CHCS team and their commitment to keeping high-quality healthcare close to home.

Becker’s highlighted CHCS accomplishments including its 24-hour labor and delivery program with C-section services, newborn screening recognition from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, award-winning heart and stroke care, workplace safety efforts, and expanding orthopedic and mental health programs.

Community HealthCare System says it will continue investing in technology, workforce development, specialty services, and patient access to strengthen healthcare throughout northeast Kansas.
