Hwy 75 work impacting Jackson Co starts Monday

(KNZA)--Drivers in Jackson County should prepare for lane restrictions on U.S. 75 starting Monday as a Kansas Department of Transportation resurfacing project gets underway.

According to KDOT, work is planned to begin on the northbound lanes of U.S. 75 between 62nd Street and 158th Road, stretching through Jackson and Shawnee counties. The project includes overlay, striping, rumble strips, and edge wedge work.

KDOT says northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane where crews are actively working, with message boards and signage in place to alert and guide motorists.

Work will take place Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with all lanes open during non-working hours.

Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., of Topeka, is the prime contractor on the project, which is expected to be complete in September, conditions permitting.
