(KNZA)---An Atchison woman was injured Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash in Brown County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly before 1:45 on K-20 Highway just west of 7th Avenue West in Horton.

According to the Patrol, 61-year-old Lisa Hansen was eastbound when she swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. Her SUV went into the south ditch, struck a concrete box culvert, and came to rest in a creek.

Hansen was taken to Amberwell Hospital in Hiawatha with suspected minor injuries.

The  Patrol says she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
