(KAIR)--Two lifelong members of the Atchison community are being honored for their decades of service to Maur Hill-Mount Academy.

According to a release from the school, Martin and Aggie Asher have been named the 2026 recipients of the Fidelis Award. They'll be honored at the League of St. Maur Gala on Saturday, September 19th at the Loews Hotel in downtown Kansas City.

The release says both Ashers built their foundation at Maur Hill Prep and Mount St. Scholastica Academy. Martin, a 1973 graduate of Maur Hill Prep, went on to Benedictine College before earning his law degree at the University of Kansas. He built a distinguished legal career, including time as Atchison County Attorney and 27 years as a District Court Judge. Aggie, a 1974 graduate of Mount St. Scholastica Academy, went on to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas, working as a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker at Atchison's Amberwell for more than 30 years.

The school says the Ashers have remained deeply involved with Maur Hill-Mount Academy over the years, mentoring the Mock Trial team, assisting with the Bob Goalby Golf Classic and the League of St. Maur Gala, and serving on the school's Board of Directors.

The release says the Ashers consider their family their greatest accomplishment, and hope their legacy of faith, ethics, and service will inspire future generations.
