(KNZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners met with Chief Deputy Sheriff Dexter Holiday last week.  
Discussion was held on replacing patrol vehicles during the current fiscal year.  A budget request has been made to replace three units, and the department requested approval to proceed with the order.  
Commissioners relayed they would be in a position to offer approval for one unit at this time and to hold off on the request for the additional two units until budgets have been reviewed and finalized.
A conversation is to be held during this weeks meeting on ordering either a 2027 F-150 Police Responder, equipped as the previous one purchased with a push bumper at a price of $49,950  or a 2027 Police Utility Vehicle Silver also equipped with a push bumper at a price of $49,477.
Highway Superintendent Steve Darveau Jr. reported crews are working on cleaning out ditches and doing bridge repairs.  He noted the Dawson Northwest project is nearly completed. 
Darveau also reported on touring with the county engineer Josh Keithley, from Midwest Engineering areas on the hard surfaced road south of Rulo to plan for repairs in those areas that are deteriorating.
Commissioners received a quote from Hayden Tower Service for removal of an antenna located on the tower at the Courthouse roof for $3,578.  The antenna is not currently in use and has been damaged and bent and should be removed so as not to break loose and fall onto the roof.   
The Board approved a request for annual membership dues and housing dues with Southeast Nebraska Development District in an amount of $6,634.

A bid from Justin Vonderschmidt to repair the outside drains at the courthouse for $5,752 was approved.  Sojka Plumbing had submitted a bid of $6,451.
