(KLZA)--Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise Executive Director Lucas Froeschl presented the organizations quarterly report to the City Council in Falls City Monday night and Richardson County Commissioners on Wednesday.  
During the update Froeschl noted that Nebraska Rural Generation continues an effort to construct a power plant on the south edge of Falls City. 
The company has executed a six-figure contract with an engineering firm to study the area. The plan is to put a package together and then present it to the City Council . Froeschl said it will likely be 6 months to a year before the feasibility of the project is known. 
This is a private investment project with no funds having been sought from the City, Utility Department or EDGE.  
Nebraska Rural Generation focuses on innovative power generation solutions to support rural community growth and economic development in Nebraska.  
According to an earlier release concerning the project,  the plant’s size, total investment, and final site location within Falls City’s electrical jurisdiction remain to be determined.
Froeschl also provided a brief update on the proposed Citroniq, bio-polypropylene project that would be built about two miles south of Falls City. 
Citroniq continues work to advance their technology and organize their company.  Froeschl said the company remains very much in play to locate their facility near Falls City at the Mid-America Rail Campus site.  
The quarterly update also noted that EDGE hosted a Community Housing Event for developers, sub-contractors, and those interested in housing solutions during the quarter.
