The 51-year-old steamfitter and former union leader is challenging incumbent Republican Pete Ricketts for the seat in the Senate. 

Osborn is a U.S. Navy veteran and father of three.

One topic he touched on during his visit the Falls City was how the war with Iran and what he calls bad tariff policies is effecting agriculture by causing input prices for farmers to skyrocket.  

Osborn said the country is currently in crisis due to bad policies and wars of choice.   

During the campaign Osborn has criticized incumbent Senator Pete Ricketts for self-funding his campaign. The challenger says his, is a “grass roots” campaign, noting that his average donation from supporters is $40, and comes from all 93 Nebraska counties and all 50 states.  He noted that he won't accept corporate money for his campaign.

Osborn finished his prepared remarks asking for the votes of those in attendance to send him to Washington D.C., to help get the government back to serving the people and not special interest groups and corporations.
