Extreme Heat Alerts

(KLZA)--Extreme heat will return to the area over the next several days. 
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Southeast Nebraska from Saturday noon until Monday night at 10.
Heat indexes of up to 109 degrees are possible.

An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday evening.  The heat index could exceed 110 degrees at times during this time period. 

The National Weather Service reminds you to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room,  stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. 

Take extra precautions when outside.  Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. You should try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

Be sure to take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
