(KNZA)--The Horton Police Department will be adding new security and patrol car cameras.

During the July 20th City Commission meeting, Police Chief Dennis Entrikin received approval to purchase security cameras for the police department building at a cost of $5,789. The department will use a cash donation and a KCAMP grant to cover most of the cost, with the remaining balance paid from the department's budget.

Commissioners also approved the purchase of three in-car cameras for police vehicles at a cost of $1,610. Those cameras will be paid for through the department's diversion fund.
