Traffic alert: Nemaha Co roadwork starting Thursday

(KMZA)--Roadway work is set to begin Thursday on U.S. 36 in Nemaha County, as the Kansas Department of Transportation starts a scrub seal between the eastern K-63 junction near Seneca and the Nemaha/Brown county line.

The department’s release says the active work area will be restricted to one lane, with traffic directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes, and a 12-foot width restriction will be in effect through the work zone.

Work is scheduled during daylight hours Monday through Friday, and KDOT says the project should be finished by late August, weather permitting.

Vance Brothers Incorporated of Kansas City, Missouri, is the prime contractor for the $940,000 project.
