(KLZA)-- The Richardson County Sheriff's Office advised residents in the area of the intersection of Highways 73 and 75 to remain alert after a subject fled from deputies on foot Monday night and ran in a northeasterly direction.

The subject is described as a black male, approximately 5'9” tall with short hair, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts.

As of Tuesday morning the subject had not been located. If anyone sees any suspicious activity, contact the Sheriff's Office immediately or call 9 1 1.

Residents were encouraged to be aware of their surroundings, keep their doors and vehicles locked and report any suspicious activity. The public is also advised not to approach the individual.

Sheriff Rick Hardesty told MSC News Tuesday morning that it is possible the subject may have been picked up by someone.
