(KAIR)--An Atchison man is facing charges after allegedly threatening two people with a knife during a disturbance at a residence in the city.

According to a release from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, officers responded to the residence in the 1900 block of Harper Drive just after 12:30 Monday afternoon.

When officers arrived on the scene they learned that a 65-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man were threatened with a knife, the release says, with a third person arrested for the alleged threat.

Taken into custody at the scene was 57-year-old Gaylon Gillis who was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and domestic battery.

Following his arrest, Gillis was booked into the Atchison County Jail.
