PSC Cheer Team at nationals

(KLZA)--The Peru State College Bobcat competitive coed cheer team didn’t just compete in the National Cheerleading Association College National Championship in Daytona, Fla., in April. The team earned a national championship in the Intermediate Large Coed NAIA Finals with an event score of 77.6991.

The roster for the Daytona Beach competition included Daxx Bender (Nebraska City), Talia Case (Evanston, Wyo.), Sydney Cecil (Cransfill Gap, Texas), Madison Eller (Stroudsburg, Penn.), Micaela Houseman (Beatrice), Gerald Lewis (Kansas City, Mo.), Olivia Messer (Santa Teresa, N.M.), Jeremy Porter (Laurel, Miss.), Quinton Rowell (Raytown, Mo.), Kohl Rutherford (Maywood), Nevaeh Wills (Clinton Forge, Va.), and Reagan Wondercheck (Malcolm).
The Peru State Coed Competitive Cheer Team thus won their first national crown at the NCA Championships – just the second national title ever won by a Bobcat athletic team.

The other team championship is the 1990 Bobcats Football team which won the NAIA Division II National Championship. Kevin “Bud” Frohling won an individual title in NAIA wrestling in 1975. Both Frohling and the ‘90 team are in the PSC Hall of Fame.
