Citroniq receives award

(KLZA)--Citroniq has been selected to receive the 2026, AFCC Gloabal Biobased Economy Performance Award.

The award is presented by the Alternative Fuels & Chemicals Coalition,  recognizing  Citroniq for advancing science and introducing new industrial biotechnology pathways to biopolymers.

AFCC specifically highlighted Citroniq’s vision for producing polypropylene from renewable carbon, its progress toward commercial-scale deployment, and the market validation demonstrated by the company’s long-term commercial agreements.

This recognition reflects the broader vision behind OrganiqPP, to produce a foundational material from renewable U.S. feedstocks without asking customers to compromise on quality, performance, or scalability.

In the release announcing the award, Citroniq notes that they continue to make steady progress across the engineering, product planning, and market-readiness activities supporting their project which is planned for construction just south of Falls City.

Much of the work required to bring a project of this scale to life takes place behind the scenes, but each step moves us closer to our goal of producing next-generation polypropylene from renewable U.S. feedstocks.

Citroniq was a Platinum Sponsor of the Falls City, 4th of July Bash, which brought the community together for an evening of bull riding, live music, and fireworks in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. As Citroniq advances its work in Nebraska, we value opportunities to support the communities connected to our project.
