Three injured in Nemaha County crash

(KMZA)--Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Nemaha County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 36 and K-178, west of Seneca.

According to the Patrol, a pickup driven by 67-year-old Douglas Huppert of Salem, Nebraska, was southbound on K-178 and failed to yield to a westbound SUV on U.S. 36 driven by 39-year-old Holly Dixon of Axtell. The pickup struck the SUV broadside.

Huppert, his passenger, 65-year-old Shiela Huppert, and Dixon were all taken to Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. Authorities say Shiela Huppert and Dixon suffered suspected serious injuries, while Douglas Huppert suffered suspected minor injuries.

The Patrol says all three were wearing seat belts.
