That's what a release from the council is calling the weekend recall of one council member through exercising what the release calls "the authority granted under...the Constitution and By-Laws" of the tribe.
That happened Saturday when the General Council completed the constitutional recall process to remove Gail Cheatham from the Tribal Council with membership voting to do so. Once completed, a vote of approval was given to the election of Priscilla Wakole to serve the remainder of the unexpired term.
On Monday, the release says, the Council again convened and completed reorganization of the council, with Wakole selected to serve as Tribal Council Chair and Nellie Cadue as Vice-Chair.
Named as secretary is Howard Allen while Michelle Cadue was named Treasurer. Selected as Tribal Council Members were Sharon Doxtator, and Merle Green.
