(KLZA)--The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced in a Tuesday afternoon press release that May tornadoes, flooding and straight-line winds in eight Nebraska counties has led to a federal disaster declaration by President Donald Trump.
The disaster declaration includes Nemaha, Gage, Jefferson, Thayer, Buffalo, Fillmore, Howard,and Thurston Counties,
Public damage likely eligible for relief could include damaged schools, public buildings and public power infrastructure, such as downed power poles and electricity delivery lines, based on the state's report of nearly $5 million in damage in its request for the assistance.
