The Missouri Highway Patrol reports a northbound semi operated by a 50-year-old woman from Galloway, Ohio struck the towed unit of a semi tractor trailer that was stopped on the east shoulder of I-29 in the northbound lane.
The truck driven by the woman traveled off the west side of the road coming to rest in the median on its wheels. The truck that was stopped, came to rest on its wheels in the east ditch. Both semi's caught on fire and were totaled in the wreck.
The operator of the parked rig was a 64-year-old male from Louisiana.
Both drivers were transported by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance to Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph for treatment of injuries.
