(KLZA)-- The Falls City Council confirmed the appointment of Janis Fischer to serve as a member of the Board of Public Works when they met Monday night.
She will replace Aaron Johnansen on the five-member Board.
In other action, the Council approved on final reading an ordinance to provide the rounding up or down to the nearest nickel, any cash transaction conducted with the City due to the discontinuance of the penny.
An ordinance to provide for allowing the sale of alcoholic beverages until 2 a.m., in Falls City which will bring the local ordinance in harmony with state statutes was approved.
Council members also approved certification of Program Compliance to Nebraska Board of Public Roads Classification and Standards for 2026 during the meeting.
