(KNZA)--A jury trial has been set for a Nortonville man facing child sex charges.
Court records show 34-year-old Allen Byler pleaded not guilty Monday in Jefferson County District Court to two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
His jury trial is scheduled for October 28th through the 30th.
Charges of rape and aggravated criminal sodomy were dismissed last week after a judge ruled evidence presented at a preliminary hearing showed those alleged crimes occurred in Colorado.
Byler was arrested in June following a joint investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation into alleged crimes involving a child under the age of 14.
Byler remains in the Jefferson County Jail on 100-thousand dollars bond after a request to modify the bond was denied.
