(KAIR)--The City of St. Joseph, Missouri, has named Lori Lanter as its new finance director.

Lanter has served as business manager for Atchison Public Schools since 2009. Her duties have included overseeing the district’s budget, financial projections, accounts payable and purchasing operations, as well as working with external auditors.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University, with concentrations in management information systems and accounting.

Lanter says she’s excited for the opportunity and looks forward to bringing her public-sector finance and budgeting experience to the city.

St. Joseph City Manager Mike Schumacher says Lanter’s financial expertise and public-sector experience made her the clear choice for the position.

Lanter will begin her new duties Monday, August 17th. Her annual salary will be 125-thousand dollars.
